What

ADR 0041: recovery objectives and hourly backups. Accepted 2026-10-02.

Targets: billing (when enabled) RPO 15 min, portal and Kanidm 1 h, Forgejo DB plus repo volume 1 h, [storage] tier 24 h. RTO 4 h (8 h for storage), a guess until a full rebuild is timed.
Mechanism: hourly uncompressed dumps plus a restic snapshot of the Forgejo repo volume into a separate restic repo, 48 hourly and 14 daily kept. A 15-min billing dump once billing is enabled. The daily archive stays.
Rejected for now: raw archive_command, pgBackRest, WAL-G (the upgrade path).
Consequences: the hourly job writes a canary row and the drill checks freshness; storage cost to be measured after a week.
