Ägare

Two Swedish copy decisions were settled while building the sign-up journey, but never written down anywhere a writer would look. The style guide is the declared source of truth for copy, so record them here.

The tagline

Ägs, drivs och driftas i Sverige. — present passive, not participles.

An earlier Ägt, drivet och driftat was wrong twice over: the participles have to agree in gender and number with a subject the sentence never names, and they describe finished states rather than how the service is run today.

passkey stays English

Recorded as an explicit exception to the guide's own "introducing a term" rule, because the reason it is exempt is exactly that the English word is the familiar one. The Swedish alternatives are either ambiguous with an SSH key or unknown to readers, and Kanidm's credential pages are English-only — translating would mean teaching a Swedish word for a button the user then has to find labelled in English.

A fifth site nobody had noticed

Both entries are also encoded as rules in the content-style checker, and verified in both directions: silent on the current copy, firing on the rejected forms.

The tagline rule then caught src/content/guides/sv/renovate.md:15, still carrying ägt, drivet och driftat i Sverige in running prose. Four surfaces were corrected when the wording was settled; this one was in a guide nobody was looking at. It now reads allt ägs, drivs och driftas i Sverige.

That is the argument for encoding a copy decision as a rule rather than only as prose. The prose entry tells the next writer the correct form; only the executable rule goes and finds where the wrong one is still live.

Verified

  • pnpm check — 0 errors, 0 warnings
  • pnpm lint — clean
  • Full detector sweep — one remaining hit, a pre-existing false positive (two repos inside a code comment in emails.ts)

Two copy decisions from the sign-up journey work lived only in a scratch execution
ledger. The style guide is the declared source of truth, so record them there:

- The principle-1 tagline is present passive, 'Ägs, drivs och driftas i Sverige.'
The participle form needs agreement with a subject the sentence never names, and
describes finished states rather than how the service is run.
- 'passkey' stays English in Swedish copy. The Swedish alternatives are ambiguous
with an SSH key or unknown to readers, and Kanidm's credential pages are
English-only, so translating means naming a button the user must find in English.

Also fixes the Swedish Renovate guide, which the new detector rule caught still
carrying the rejected participle form — a fifth site nobody had noticed.
