Paid plans through an EU payment provider (Mollie, ADR 0011).

A billing service with customers and subscriptions, behind a provider-neutral interface. Tier changes must flow payment → Kanidm group → reconciler (ADR 0017), never writing Forgejo directly.

Horizon: Now (minimum checkout, roadmap decision 2026-09-24).

Status 2026-10-03: the billing service is released and deployed to production, disabled. The withdrawal function (bitborg-web PR #273) and the portal checkout (PR #274) are merged and stay dark until billing is configured. Remaining: enable billing in test mode, one test payment end to end, and the paid option at sign-up.

Scope update — 2026-09-24

Cut to a minimum checkout so the first sale is not waiting on everything else:

  • One paid product, annual billing shown first, monthly second.
  • The provider's hosted checkout. No card form of our own.
  • A webhook that grants the paid tier through the identity provider and the reconciler (ADR 0017).
  • Cancellation stops renewal at period end.

Remaining work in the public repos:

The service itself is tracked internally. Legal and operator prerequisites are in #106.
